The Holidays are upon us!
The chestnuts are roasted, the pudding is singing in the copper, and all our stockings have been hung by the chimney with care. Tis the most wonderful time of the year, that no one can dispute. And, as the New Year approaches, it is also a time for reflection.
It has been a good—SECOND—year here at Echo Lake Road.
The Raven Chronicles started out as a notion, like most every other creative endeavor, but, unlike the dozens of other notions I have every day, it has become a reality:
An online novella.
Each chapter posted just after it has been written.
Nothing plotted out in advance.
An exercise in shared discovery with my readers.
A pretty nifty idea, I think.
I did have the vague concept of the story concluding within a year’s time, but as often happens, the story assumed it’s own shape and set it’s own pace—I just sit at the keyboard and take dictation from the muse.
So, The Raven Chronicles will continue on into—2013—until the boss says we are finished. And there will be more new short stories posted in WORKS, more linguist pearls of wisdom and insight posted in WORDS.
A great big thanks to everyone who has participated by reading and commenting on what they have read, and a special thanks to those who have subscribed to echolakeroad.net. If you are so moved, please invite a friend to join in the voyage. There is always room for one more on this ship of fools.
A most Merry Christmas to you and yours from me and everyone at Sterns-Carson Sanitarium.
And may the New Year, indeed be shiny and bright.
Nollaig chridheil agus Bliadhma mhath ur!
